Mongolia Opens 8,000 Job Vacancies for Jakarta Residents
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency (Disnakertransgi) of DKI Jakarta Province has stated that the Government of Mongolia has opened 8,000 job vacancies for Jakarta residents.
“Mongolia has now opened opportunities for residents of DKI Jakarta to work in Mongolia, so there are around 8,000 job vacancies,” said Taufik, Head of the Manpower Placement Division at Disnakertransgi DKI Jakarta, during the opening of the East Jakarta Career Fest and Bazaar 2026, First Wave, at the Ciracas Sports Hall, East Jakarta, on Tuesday.
According to Taufik, the opportunity is one option for Jakartans to secure employment abroad amid a labour market that continues to face challenges.
Information about the job opportunities was obtained after the agency received an audience from Mongolian representatives last week.
Furthermore, Taufik noted that the job opportunities have not yet entered the recruitment stage. The process is currently awaiting a recruitment permit letter from the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI).
“We are currently awaiting the recruitment permit letter from KP2MI, and placement will begin this September,” he said.
Taufik said that overseas job opportunities are currently quite open. Therefore, Jakartans can view these opportunities as one alternative in their job search.
One field offering opportunities for Indonesian workers in Mongolia is the hospitality sector. According to information received by the DKI Provincial Government, workers in this field are being offered salaries of around US$500 to US$900.
The salary level is one of the attractions for job seekers looking to take advantage of international employment opportunities.
However, prospective workers must still meet the required requirements and competencies before they can be placed.
Additionally, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is partnering with KP2MI to enhance the capacity of prospective Indonesian migrant workers (CPMI).
The programme includes improving technical skills in line with job requirements, as well as language proficiency. Such preparation is considered essential because prospective workers are not only required to possess skills relevant to their field of work, but must also be able to communicate in the working environment of the destination country.
“So we have a partnership with KP2MI to build the capacity of CPMI themselves, both in terms of improving their technical skills and their language proficiency,” he said.
Taufik expressed hope that international job opportunities can serve as one alternative for job seekers in Jakarta.
“This is something we very much hope for in addressing open unemployment in DKI Jakarta, which is indeed still above the national average,” he said.
