Monday Morning: 18 Residential Units and Two Roads in Jakarta Still Flooded
JAKARTA — Eighteen residential units and two roads in Jakarta remained flooded on Monday, 9 March 2026, according to data from Jakarta’s Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD DKI Jakarta) as of 04:00.
The 18 flooded residential units were scattered across West Jakarta. Heavy rainfall that struck the Jakarta Special Capital Region and surrounding areas from Saturday, 7 March 2026, through Sunday, 8 March 2026, caused the inundation across the capital, said Mohammad Yohan, head of the Data and Information Centre at BPBD DKI Jakarta.
Water depths at the affected locations varied, ranging from 30 to 80 centimetres, Yohan reported.
The flooded residential units were located in:
Duri Kosambi District: 4 units
Rawa Buaya District: 9 units
Jelambar District: 1 unit
South Kembangan District: 2 units
North Kembangan District: 2 units
Two road sections remained waterlogged: Kapuk Muara Raya Road in Kapuk Muara District, North Jakarta; and Outer Kembangan Raya Traffic Light in South Kembangan District, West Jakarta. Water depths on these roads reached 15 to 70 centimetres.
The flooding was caused by high rainfall intensity and overflow from Angke Canal, Yohan stated.
Hundreds of residents evacuated to temporary shelters in Kedaung Angke Channel District, South Kembangan District, and North Kembangan District.
