Monday: Mobile SIM Services Available at Five Locations in Jakarta

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Metro Jaya Police is opening five locations for mobile Driving Licence (SIM) services for the public wishing to renew the validity period of this legal requirement for driving, in the Jakarta area, on Monday. The mobile SIM service provided by Ditlantas of the Metro Jaya Police is an effort to make it easier for the public to handle or complete one of the requirements for driving. Through the X account @tmcpoldametro, it was announced that the service is open from 08:00 to 14:00 WIB. Here are the locations: East Jakarta: Lobby in front of Mall Grand Cakung; North Jakarta: Main lobby of LTC Glodok Mall; South Jakarta: Parking area beside Universitas Trilogi; West Jakarta: South lobby of Mall Ciputra; Central Jakarta: Parking area of the Lapangan Banteng Post Office. The requirements are a photocopy of a valid KTP, the old physical SIM and its photocopy, proof of health check, and proof of psychology test. This mobile SIM service can only extend SIMs that are still valid for certain categories, namely SIM A and SIM C. This service only handles extensions for SIM A and SIM C that are still valid, while holders of SIMs whose validity has expired must apply for a new SIM at the Daan Mogot SIM Satpas in West Jakarta. The validity period of SIMs is now calculated as five years from the date of issuance and no longer adjusted to the owner’s date of birth. This policy ensures that the SIM expiry date is determined based on the issuance time, not the applicant’s date of birth. For the renewal fee, in accordance with Government Regulation Number 76 of 2020 on Types and Tariffs for Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) applicable to the Police, it is Rp80,000 for SIM A renewal and Rp75,000 for SIM C renewal. In addition to these fees, applicants also need to pay additional costs, including Rp60,000 for the psychology test and Rp35,000 for the health test. For information, drivers who cannot show a valid SIM will be subject to sanctions in accordance with Article 288 paragraph 2 of Law Number 22 of 2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation. The maximum sanction that can be imposed is imprisonment for up to one month or a fine of up to Rp250,000.
