Monas to host parade of 520 vehicles for 81st TNI anniversary

The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) is preparing 520 units of military equipment and vehicles for a parade at the climax of the 81st TNI anniversary celebrations in the Monas area of Jakarta on 5 October 2026.

“The parade will feature 520 units of military equipment and vehicles, comprising 420 units of TNI equipment and vehicles as well as 100 vintage or non-TNI vehicles,” said the Head of the TNI Headquarters Information Centre, Major General Muhammad Nas, when contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Nas said the parade is being staged to educate the public about the types and capabilities of the TNI’s principal weapons systems.

Personnel will march in the parade and take part in combat simulations displayed in the Monas area, in line with how the parade was conducted in previous years.

“The parade will involve 81 battalion-level units (SSB), consisting of 51 TNI battalion-level units and 30 non-TNI battalion-level units,” he said.

He assured that preparations are continuing to be refined so that the entire series of events at the climax of the 81st TNI anniversary celebrations can proceed safely and smoothly.
