JAKARTA (JP): Herbicide and seed producer PT Monagro Kimia announced on Monday that it would expand its hybrid corn plantation acreage to 100,000 hectares nationwide this year from 30,000 hectares.

"Local farmers will be involved in the development of the new plantations in a partnership program," he said.

He added that Monagro targeted to produce 10,000 tons of prime-seed C-7 hybrid corn by 2001. (gis)
