Moments of the Megamall Fire in Manado: One Employee Dies

A fire has struck one of the largest shopping centres in Manado, North Sulawesi.

The fire occurred on Saturday (16/5) at around 8:45 PM local time.

As a result of this incident, one employee, identified only as P (34), was found dead after reportedly being trapped on the sixth floor of the building.

The flames were first seen on the third floor of the shopping centre, causing panic among visitors and employees.

The fire was eventually extinguished after 11 fire trucks from the Manado Fire Department and water cannons from the North Sulawesi Police were deployed.
