Moments of President Prabowo's Arrival in Russia Ahead of Meeting with Putin
Approaching midnight on Sunday (12/04/2026), Vice President Gibran Rakabuming saw off President Prabowo Subianto’s departure for Moscow, Russian Federation. This visit is part of efforts to strengthen strategic cooperation amid continuously evolving global dynamics. The Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated in a written release that President Prabowo is heading to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Approaching midnight on this Sunday, 12 April 2026, President Prabowo Subianto departed for Moscow, Russia,” said the Cabinet Secretary. The journey to Moscow takes approximately 12 hours of non-stop flight using the national carrier Garuda Indonesia, with an estimated arrival on Monday morning local time. “President Prabowo is scheduled to hold a one-on-one meeting with President Vladimir Putin in the afternoon,” explained Cabinet Secretary Teddy. In the meeting agenda, Cabinet Secretary Teddy conveyed that the two leaders will discuss several strategic issues, including strengthening national energy resilience through continued cooperation with the Russian government. It is known that previously, the Head of State along with a limited entourage took off from TNI AU Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, around 23:10 WIB. President Prabowo’s departure was directly seen off by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Head of the State Intelligence Agency Muhammad Herindra.
