Moments as Iranian Missiles Strike US Military Base in Bahrain

A series of explosions rocked several Gulf Arab nations hosting US military bases on Saturday, 28 February 2026, local time, following US and Israeli attacks on Iran. Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, and Kuwait all reported multiple blasts.

Reuters reported that the Fifth Fleet Service Centre of the US Navy in Bahrain had “become a target of missile attacks”. Bahrain is a key US ally in the Persian Gulf region and serves as the permanent headquarters for the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in the capital, Manama.

Residents of the UAE reported hearing loud explosions in the capital Abu Dhabi after the US and Israel attacked Iran. Abu Dhabi is also home to a military base housing US military personnel. The UAE authorities announced the temporary partial closure of its airspace as a precaution.
