Moment When Sultan HB X is Given a Hat by Prabowo During Meeting at Jogja Airport

A video showing the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono (HB) X, being given a hat by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has gone viral on social media. The moment occurred when Sultan HB X welcomed Prabowo’s arrival at Adisutjipto Air Base, Jogja.

“There was an interesting moment, Lur, when the Governor of DIY, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, carried out the official welcoming of the working visit of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, on Thursday (9/04). The weather was hot at the time, with the state aircraft RI 1 expected to arrive at 10.45 WIB at Base Ops of Adisutjipto Air Base, Yogyakarta,” said the Instagram account @humasjogja as seen by detikJogja today.

“When descending from the aircraft, President Prabowo was welcomed by the Governor along with the ranks of the DIY Regional Leadership Coordination Forum. Subsequently, the President continued his working visit to Magelang by helicopter. Just before the helicopter took off, the Governor received a gift in the form of an RI 1 hat handed over through an aide,” the account continued.

The Sultan confirmed the giving of the RI 1 hat from Prabowo to him. The Sultan assessed that the hat was given because he was the only one not wearing a hat during the welcoming.

“Yes, because I wasn’t wearing a hat myself, it’s fine,” he said to reporters at the Parasamya pendopo of the Bantul Regency Office Complex, Bantul Regency, Friday (10/4/2026).

Ngarsa Dalem also admitted he did not expect to receive the RI 1 hat gift from Prabowo. Considering the hat was given by Prabowo through his aide just before the helicopter took off.

“I didn’t expect it,” he said.

Apart from that, Ngarsa Dalem expressed his gratitude for the hat gift.

“You’re welcome, thank you,” he said.
