Moment when President Prabowo Attends Kebumen's Large-Scale Shrimp Harvest

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, Kebumen — President Prabowo Subianto on Saturday, 23 May 2026, observed the shrimp harvest at the Area-Based Shrimp Cultivation Ponds (Tambak Budidaya Udang Berbasis Kawasan, BUBK) in Kebumen, Central Java. The pond complex spans about 100 hectares and has a production value of roughly Rp67.2 billion per cycle, with the potential to reach Rp134.4 billion per year and to absorb hundreds of workers.

Prabowo Subianto was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Food Security Zulkifli Hasan and Deputy Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Didit Herdiawan as they toured the site and spoke with local residents during the harvest. The BUBK project exemplifies progress in Indonesian aquaculture and its contribution to rural livelihoods.
