Moment When Prabowo Performs Eid Prayer with Residents at Darussalam Mosque in Aceh Tamiang

President Prabowo Subianto performed Eid al-Fitr prayers alongside several ministers from the Merah Putih Cabinet in Simpang Empat Upah Ward, Karang Baru Subdistrict, Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh. The community joined Prabowo in prayer at Darussalam Mosque.

According to observations by detikcom on Saturday (21/3/2026), Prabowo arrived at the mosque at 07.10 WIB. The public had already formed prayer rows both inside and outside the mosque.

Takbir chants were recited in the lead-up to the Eid prayer. Prabowo and his entourage entered the front row of the prayer formation near the mosque’s pulpit.

The Eid prayer was led by Imam Tengku Junaidi of Darussalam Mosque. The sermon was delivered by Khateeb Captain Inf Zulkhaizir.

The number of worshippers was estimated at around 1,300 people. The congregation consisted of residents of temporary shelters and local communities around the disaster-affected shelters.

Several cabinet members were present, including Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Prabowo and the ministers were seen wearing white koko shirts complete with peci caps.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained the reason for President Prabowo performing Eid prayers in Aceh. He stated that Prabowo would also check the progress of recovery in disaster-impacted areas.

“So tomorrow (Saturday) morning, we all fly to Aceh (from Medan). Eid prayers there, together with the Aceh community in particular. And also to check,” said Teddy during a visit in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday (20/3) night.

It is known that Prabowo is scheduled to carry out a series of Eid al-Fitr activities in two different regions in Sumatra. He participated in the takbiran night in North Sumatra and continued with Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh on Saturday, 21 March.

This year marks the second Eid for Prabowo and Gibran Rakabuming as president and vice president. In 2025, Prabowo and Gibran performed Eid al-Fitr prayers at Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta.
