Moment When Prabowo Greets Residents in Aceh and Jakarta During Eid al-Fitr
President Prabowo Subianto greeted residents in Aceh and Jakarta during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations. Prabowo shook hands with the public and distributed food aid packages.
Observations by detikcom on Saturday (21/3/2026) showed Prabowo performing Eid al-Fitr prayers at Masjid Darussalam in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, starting at 07.10 WIB. Prabowo also attended the sermon delivered by the imam, Captain Inf Zulkhaizir.
After the Eid prayer, praises were recited as the congregation stood to shake hands. The worshippers lined up to shake hands directly with Prabowo near the mosque’s pulpit.
Following the halal bihalal with the community, Prabowo distributed food aid packages directly to residents. The packages were wrapped in blue-coloured bags and handed over personally to the public.
Afterwards, Prabowo inspected the temporary housing (huntara) located near the mosque. The temporary housing structures appeared neat and were already occupied by disaster-affected residents.
Prabowo was accompanied by Interior Minister Tito Karnavian, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono, Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf (Mualem), and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
See the Recovery Process in Aceh After the Disaster
Prabowo appreciated the various parties who have worked to accelerate disaster recovery in Aceh Tamiang. He stated that the disaster response in the area was very swift.
“The repairs and recovery have been very fast. Alhamdulillah, nearly 100 percent,” said Prabowo after Eid prayers.
Prabowo mentioned that there are no longer any evacuees in Aceh Tamiang living in tents. They have moved into permanent or temporary housing built by the government.
“There are no more in tents, 100 percent all have left the tents. They have entered temporary or permanent housing,” he said.
Prabowo thanked all the personnel involved in the Sumatra disaster recovery. He noted that the improvements are now being felt by the residents.
“I am very proud, thank you to all the personnel, all apparatus from TNI-Polri, BNPB, Public Works, local government, all ministries and agencies that have worked extraordinarily. They have worked extraordinarily to help the people in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and other provinces,” explained Prabowo.
Shortly after, Prabowo flew directly to Jakarta. He returned to the State Palace.
