Moment When Prabowo Dismisses Presidential Security During Handshake with Residents in Gorontalo

The moment occurred during Prabowo’s inspection of the Merah Putih Fishermen’s Village in the region on Saturday (9/5/2026). Upon arriving at the location, Prabowo first toured the area of the fishermen’s village that has been completed and is now operational.

Prabowo examined several facilities available in the area. The Merah Putih Fishermen’s Village has been equipped with various supporting facilities, such as a management office, fishermen’s workshop, meeting hall, supply kiosks, cool box shelters, ice factory, fish cold storage warehouse, boat docking, fish landing shelters, and net repair areas.

After the inspection, Prabowo approached the fishermen and residents who had gathered under the tent. The residents appeared enthusiastic in welcoming Prabowo’s arrival and jostled to shake his hand.

Prabowo then shook hands with the residents starting from the left side of the tent. Several Presidential Security Force members were seen approaching to secure the area near Prabowo.

However, Prabowo was seen waving away the hand of a Presidential Security Force member who was nearby and asked them to step aside so as not to obstruct him from shaking hands with the residents. After that, Prabowo continued to greet and shake hands with the residents up to the right side of the tent.

Prabowo then delivered a speech in front of the fishermen and residents. Prabowo said he deliberately came to ensure that the facilities at the Merah Putih Fishermen’s Village were running as expected.

“Today I had the opportunity to stop by in Gorontalo. I wanted to see the Merah Putih Fishermen’s Village that has been initiated and built in Gorontalo,” said Prabowo.

“And I saw earlier that there is already an ice maker here, there is cold storage, several facilities. This is indeed our intention to empower all fishermen in Indonesia,” he added.
