Moment When Minister of Public Works Drives Himself on Trans-Java Toll Road: Good and Smooth
Jakarta – Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo had the opportunity to test the asphalt of the Trans-Java Toll Road directly from Kalikangkung to Brebes, spanning 26.4 kilometres, to ensure the infrastructure’s readiness for the return flow of Eid traffic. He drove himself with the aim of experiencing firsthand the vehicle dynamics when crossing each bridge joint and the road shoulder of the Trans-Java Toll Road. Overall, he commended the quality of the toll road managed by PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk and other operators, such as the Indonesia Investment Authority. “Overall, it’s good and smooth, impressive. The road shoulder is also fine. I even tested the road shoulder earlier to check its quality,” Dody said, as quoted on Sunday, 29 March 2026. Nevertheless, he did not overlook the shortcomings of this paid toll road. Dody found several points that were still undulating and damaged, particularly on the stretch approaching the Brebes Exit and some points before on the Cipali Toll Road. “There are a few points near Brebes that are somewhat damaged on the bridge sections, but not many. I’ve already instructed them to fix it immediately,” Dody added. In addition to ensuring the readiness of connectivity infrastructure, Dody also directly inspected the handling of tidal flooding in Brebes.
