Moment When Jumhur Hidayat Delivers Oration as a Labour Union After Becoming Environment Minister

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The General Chairman of the Indonesian Confederation of Trade Unions (KSPSI), Jumhur Hidayat, joined in delivering orations during the International Labour Day commemoration at Monas in Central Jakarta on Friday (1/5/2026).

The Environment Minister, who was inaugurated just three days prior, also gave a statement in front of President Prabowo Subianto.

Jumhur did not speak at length; he only conveyed thanks to Prabowo for enabling workers to unite under his leadership.

Jumhur is confident that the aspirations long fought for by workers can be realised if unity is maintained.

“We also thank Mr Prabowo for instructing your apparatus and close associates to unite us all,” he said.

“Mr National Police Chief, Mr Labour Minister, Mr State Secretary, we realise that uniting together has finally led to this unity,” he stated.

“Thank you, nation; thank you, President. Long live the workers!” he concluded.

For information, the Labour Day commemoration at Monas was attended by hundreds of thousands of workers from various regions.

The event was attended by Prabowo and several senior state officials.
