Moment When Doctor Explains Nadiem Makarim's Health in Chromebook Corruption Trial
Jakarta - Nadiem Makarim’s legal team brought two doctors who treated him to the continuation of the Chromebook laptop procurement corruption trial on Monday (11/5/2026).
The two doctors, representatives from Abdi Waluyo Hospital management, dr. Inolyn Panjaitan, Sp.PD-KHOM, and dr. Bramastha Aires Rosadi Oggy, M.Biomed, Sp.B, a surgical specialist at Abdi Waluyo Hospital, explained Nadiem’s health condition to the judges and prosecutors.
“Is there anything you would like to convey, perhaps regarding Mr Nadiem’s health condition for this opportunity?” asked the panel of judges before the trial began at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday afternoon.
The panel of judges then asked the public prosecutors and the legal advisory team to come forward to hear further explanations about Nadiem’s health condition.
“If there is no objection from the public prosecutors or the advocates’ representatives, could you please come forward?” said the judge.
It was previously reported that Nadiem Makarim still attended the Chromebook corruption trial today, even though he must undergo pre-operative procedures on Tuesday (12/5/2026) and surgery on Wednesday (13/5/2026) at Abdi Waluyo Hospital.
Nadiem said he received the green light from the medical team to still attend the trial with the defendant’s examination agenda today.
“Alhamdulillah, I have been given a lot of pain-relief medication at the hospital, so insyaallah I will endeavour as best as possible to complete today’s trial even if it is long,” said Nadiem.
“I will endeavour as best as possible, Your Honour. So I am ready to face today’s trial,” he added.
Nadiem Makarim is charged with causing state financial losses of Rp 2.1 trillion in the alleged corruption case of Chromebook-based laptop procurement.
This act was carried out together with three other defendants, namely former Kemendikbudristek technology consultant Ibrahim Arief, former Kemendikbudristek Junior High School Director Mulyatsyah, and former Kemendikbudristek Elementary School Director Sri Wahyuningsih.
The calculation of state losses is divided into two components, namely for the procurement of Chromebook-based laptops and the procurement of Chrome Device Management (CDM).
Prosecutors assess that the CDM procurement harmed the state because it was unnecessary and not required in the Kemendikbudristek Digitalisation of Education programme at that time.
