Moment When Ahmad Luthfi Celebrates Eid with Children from Orphanages and Disability Communities
Previously, Luthfi had urged the entire community, government agencies, and private institutions to conduct this year’s halal bihalal tradition in a simple manner. The essence of halal bihalal is maintaining ties of kinship, mutual forgiveness, and sharing sustenance to help ease the burdens of brethren affected by calamities such as natural disasters and others. “So there is no open house; instead, there is assistance together with our Regional Device Organisations (OPD), so that we can share the same sense of happiness. This assistance is given to the disabled, the poor, and orphans,” Luthfi said in his statement on Saturday (21/3/2026). Accompanied by the Central Java Provincial Secretary Sumarno and all heads of OPDs of the Central Java Provincial Government, Luthfi could not stop smiling broadly when facing the orphanage children and disability community members. He even appeared to carry two orphanage children at once with full warmth. “We invited the orphanage children here, and we also invited the disability community to celebrate Eid together, because humans are born equal before Allah SWT,” he said. Meanwhile, the Head of the Woro Wiloso Salatiga Social Services Orphanage, Heksasari Ratna Dewi, expressed gratitude to Luthfi for giving the orphanage children the opportunity to get to know the governor’s official residence. Previously, during iftar at the orphanage, Luthfi had directly invited the orphanage children to celebrate Eid al-Fitr together. “The children are very happy. Moments like this are eagerly awaited by the children at the orphanage. Earlier, they were facilitated by the general bureau bus, picked up at 8 a.m. after Eid prayer. The children were very enthusiastic,” she said. In agreement, the Chair of the Sahabat Difabel Community Foundation, Hidayah, said that this year’s Eid was different because it was the first time the governor invited disability friends to the Perdamaian Residence to celebrate together. “Thank you, we are very proud; we from the disability community were called by Sir. Sir is very attentive to the disability community in Central Java. As soon as we met, we already felt very close and familiar,” she concluded. For information, the event was also attended by the Chair of the Central Java Baznas, who is also the Chair of the Central Java MUI, Ahmad Darodji, the board of directors of Bank Jateng, and other stakeholders. The Mayor of Semarang Agustina Wilujeng and Deputy Mayor Izwar Aminuddin along with their entourages were also present to exchange greetings.
