Moment of Prabowo-Megawati Meeting at Merdeka Palace, Accompanied by Dasco and Puan

President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from PDI-P Chair and fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri. The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere at Merdeka Palace. The encounter occurred at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (19/3/2026). Prabowo uploaded moments from the meeting on his Instagram account. Prabowo, wearing a brown safari suit, was seen personally welcoming Megawati as she stepped out of her car. Deputy House Speaker and Gerindra’s daily chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad was also present to greet her. House Speaker Puan Maharani accompanied Megawati during the meeting with Prabowo. Prabowo appeared to hold Megawati’s hand as they ascended the steps to enter Merdeka Palace. Inside the palace, Prabowo’s son Didit Hediprasetyo and his aide-de-camp Rizky Irmansyah welcomed Megawati’s arrival. They were seen conversing in the central room of Merdeka Palace, followed by the main meeting. Prabowo, Megawati, Dasco, and Puan were observed sitting together at one table. In his statement, Prabowo did not elaborate on the content of the meeting. He described it as a continuation of ties among national leaders. “On the 29th day of the month of Ramadan ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, I received the fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ibu Hj. Megawati Soekarnoputri, at Merdeka Palace. This meeting continues the camaraderie among national leaders,” he said.
