Moment House XII of the DPR Ejects Jababeka's Representative from Meeting
Commission XII of the DPR held a public hearing with the Ministry of Environment, PT Jababeka Tbk and PT Mastertama Adhi Propertindo (MAP) to discuss the wastewater pipe issue. During the meeting, Deputy Chair of Commission XII Bambang Haryadi ordered the Jababeka representatives to leave.
The incident occurred during a meeting held at Commission XII of the DPR in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (7/9/2026), chaired by Bambang Haryadi himself. Those in attendance included Deputy for Environmental Law Enforcement Inspector General Rizal Irawan and PT MAP President Director Alex Widjaja. From the Jababeka side, the attendee was the President Director of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur, Didik Purbadi.
Upon learning that the President Director of PT Jababeka Tbk was not present in person, Commission XII ordered the Jababeka Infrastruktur representatives out of the meeting. Bambang Haryadi explained the reason for the ejection, saying Jababeka had insulted the DPR by sending only the President Director of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur, a subsidiary of PT Jababeka Tbk.
“The President Director — well, where is Setyono Djuandi Darmono? He wasn’t the one who turned up, was he? This is an insult. We don’t care which of them is at fault, but the point is we want to find a middle way for those who are in the wrong,” Bambang Haryadi said during the meeting.
Bambang also questioned the laboratory results of the wastewater presented by Jababeka, claiming the results had been manipulated.
“But there is one peculiar thing — perhaps this is an insult. Just imagine, the results can be altered. Lab results, boss. Even the Director General of the Environment was confused that lab results could be changed. This is an insult. If it’s true, fine, but this is a gamble for the lab,” he said.
He also condemned Jababeka, which he described as believing itself untouchable by the law. “So I think, dear colleagues, PT Jababeka Tbk already feels it is the greatest, the strongest, untouchable by law, and able to oppress the people beneath it,” Bambang added.
Bambang said his side had invited Jababeka Tbk twice and expressed disappointment with the day’s meeting.
“Yes, we were the ones who invited Jababeka Tbk. That’s twice now — we invited them before, and this was the second invitation. Yet on the second invitation, only their subsidiary turned up. As if we mean nothing at all. We are the problem solvers; we want to find a middle way. But they treat us as if we are insignificant,” said Bambang Haryadi.
Jababeka Speaks Out
After being ejected, PT Jababeka Infrastruktur President Director Didik Purbadi spoke to the press. He pointed out that the other parties also failed to attend the meeting, including PT Mastertama Adhi Propertindo.
“Yes, they didn’t turn up either — they said Mastertama wasn’t present, and their President Director wasn’t there either,” said Didik after being ejected from the meeting.
He said the meeting had been postponed and that Commission XII of the DPR would issue a further invitation.
“Yes, it will be postponed, that’s the plan. There will be another invitation later,” said Didik.
PT MAP’s Explanation
Meanwhile, PT Mastertama Adhi Propertindo’s Markus Nababan also commented on the ejection of the Jababeka representatives. He confirmed that Jababeka was ejected for failing to honour Commission XII’s invitation.
“PT Jababeka Tbk was the one invited, but it was Jababeka Infrastruktur that turned up. Earlier, the leadership of Commission XII ordered the representatives of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur to leave the meeting because they did not comply with the Commission’s invitation,” he said.
