A six-year-old boy at Taman Kamat Pulo in Senen, Central Jakarta, became a victim of bullying that resulted in electrocution. The victim briefly lost consciousness after being forced to approach an electrical pole until he was shocked.

The incident was recorded by CCTV cameras around the park. In the circulated video footage, the victim was initially playing with a number of other children.

Two teenage perpetrators suddenly dragged the victim close to an electrical pole. Shortly after, the victim was electrocuted and fell unconscious, while the two perpetrators immediately left.

This incident caused the other children to crowd around him. There was a considerable interval during which the boy lay beneath the electrical pole before the two perpetrators returned to the location.

The two perpetrators then pulled the victim away from the pole. The victim was then dragged near a seating area and the two perpetrators immediately fled.

The victim’s grandmother, Linda Reselin, said her grandson was hospitalised following the bullying by the perpetrators. She stated the victim was forced to approach the electrical pole until he was shocked.

“Now my grandson is conscious, but he is still afraid when meeting people,” said Linda, as reported by Antara on Wednesday (10/6).

Linda said the incident occurred on Sunday (7/6). Based on the CCTV video, there were two teenagers who took the boy and pressed him against the electrical pole.

Sadly, the electrical pole located inside the Kramat Pulo park area, Kramat Sub-district, Senen District, Central Jakarta, had a leak, causing the victim to be jolted, convulse, and then faint.

“I watched the CCTV inside the park. It turned out the recording showed my grandson being persecuted by two individuals known by the initials LNG and RVN. My grandson was dragged and brought to a pole that evidently had an electrical current, causing my grandson to be electrocuted,” she said.

The victim’s family has reported the case to the Central Jakarta Metro Police. The family is urging that both perpetrators be promptly apprehended.
