Mojtaba Khamenei calls for Islamic world to unite against 'true enemy'

Istanbul (ANTARA) - Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojseb Khamenei has called upon the leaders of Islamic nations to unite against a shared ‘true enemy’, while accusing the United States and Israel of being the ‘arch-enemies’ of Islamic unity.

“My repeated recommendation and empathy to the leaders of Islamic countries, particularly in West Asia and the Gulf region, is that they must be able to see the true enemy, understand the enemy’s plans, and fight against them,” said Khamenei in a message delivered as part of ‘Islamic Unity Week’ on Sunday.

As broadcast on the national television IRIB, Khamenei stated that the unity of the Muslim community is vital to achieving a beloved and dominant Islamic civilisation.

“The US and Israel are the true enemies of this unity and friendship,” Khamenei said, asserting that the US and Israel are not only enemies of Iran, but enemies of the entire Islamic world.

Iran and the US subsequently agreed to a ceasefire in April, followed by the signing of a memorandum of understanding in June to end military conflict and achieve lasting peace.

However, that agreement has collapsed since last month, with Iran and the US engaging in mutual attacks again for two weeks before US President Donald Trump abruptly ordered a halt to the attacks in an effort to pursue dialogue to end the war.
