Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, has spoken out after the United States (US) launched an attack on the Sirik region of Iran, resulting in four deaths. He asserted that Iran would deliver an unforgettable lesson to the US.

“O Iran and the Axis of Resistance, there is an unforgettable lesson for the American enemy,” stated Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, as reported by Al Jazeera on Wednesday (2/9/2026).

Mojtaba made this statement via a post on X following the commencement of the US attack on Iran.

For context, the United States recently launched an attack on a wedding ceremony in the mountainous area near the coastal town of Sirik, Iran. Four people, including a child, were reported killed.

The attack—which Iranian media reports occurred during a wedding ceremony—also caused more than 50 injuries.

The local Red Crescent branch stated that rescue efforts are still ongoing.
