Mojtaba Khamenei Affirms Iran Will Uphold Sovereignty in Nuclear and Missile Technology
TEHERAN – Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Thursday (30/4/2016) affirmed that Tehran will protect its achievements in the nuclear sector and missile technology. He made the statement during the Persian Gulf Day commemoration.
“Ninety million Iranian citizens and our brave and pious compatriots inside and outside the country regard all indigenous potentials—spiritual, human, scientific, and industrial—as well as new and fundamental technologies, from nano- and biotechnology to nuclear and rocket technology, as the nation’s wealth,” Khamenei said in his speech.
The Supreme Leader added that one of the countries in the Persian Gulf region intends to protect all these achievements just as they defend their land, sea, and air borders.
Persian Gulf Day, a public holiday in the Islamic Republic of Iran, is commemorated to remember the expulsion of Portuguese colonial forces from the country’s southern coast nearly four centuries ago.
