Moerdiono sings for billions

SURABAYA: Minister/State Secretary Moerdiono displayed his
singing talent on stage Wednesday night and raised Rp 2.7 billion
($1.3 million) in the process.

The money will be donated to the victims of the killer tidal
waves in East Java's Banyuwangi regency which left over 200
people dead and thousands homeless in early June.

During the charity concert, Moerdiono sang two numbers
accompanied by top female singer Dewi Yull. They were Aku Rindu
(Missing You) and Aku Milik Siapa (Who Do I Belong To).

Each number was auctioned to the highest bidder in the
audience, mostly local businessmen.

Also watching the charity concert were East Java governor
Basofi Soedirman, Brawijaya Military Command Haris Sudarno, Head
of East Java Police Headquarters Emon Rivai Arganata and a number
of local figures. (11)
