Moerdani still in ICU

JAKARTA: Ailing former Armed Forces chief and defense minister Gen. (ret) L.B. Moerdani has remained in the intensive care unit since he was admitted to the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital in Central Jakarta on July 8 after suffering a stroke.

Since his arrival at the hospital, Moerdani, 74, has been undergoing physiotherapy, a medical worker said.

The former general has been linked to the Tanjung Priok incident in 1984 when he was the country's military commander. A number of active and retired military officers are standing trial at an ad hoc human rights court in connection with the incident. -- Antara
