REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEL AVIV – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that his country officially and fully supports Israel. He affirmed India’s admiration for Israel’s determination, courage, and achievements. He added, in his speech before the Israeli Knesset on Wednesday (26/2/2026), that he supports all actions aimed at strengthening peace and stability, including addressing the Palestinian issue. He noted that the Abraham Accords, launched several years ago, brought much hope, but today faces many challenges. He reaffirmed his support for the peace initiative (Donald Trump’s plan) signed in Egypt and supported by the UN Security Council. According to him, the initiative is a path to peace in the region and his country fully supports it. “We believe that this initiative brings the promise of a just and sustainable peace for all the people in the region, including the resolution of the Palestinian issue,” he said. He said he was proud to be the first Indian president to visit Israel (nine years ago) and the first Indian prime minister to speak before the Israeli Knesset.
