I often burst into laughter when I watch the way Indonesian
actors act on television, who tend to be so westernized. For
example, they like say "ahm" while they are thinking of
something, "yap" instead of the Indonesian ya. "Knock", when
knocking at the door, instead of tok, tok. "Beep" for the sound
of car's horn, instead of the Indonesian tet, tet. In the future,
it will be difficult to distinguish Indonesians from Americans.
This is only an example of small matters. Not to mention such
things as food, dress, and daily conduct.

I am really sad at these trends. They are lacking social
concerns, love of modesty. Also I am concerned about the way they
appreciate western music. The young people are more interested in
the musician's accessories such as earrings, bracelets and having
long hair, rather than their musical rhythm and expression.
