Modern Kartini: Bold in Creation and Inspiration
Jakarta, 27 April 2026 - In commemoration of Kartini’s spirit, the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM organised an inspirational talk show on Monday (27/4/2026) at the Suhartoyo Building Hall. The event served as a platform for sharing ideas, experiences, and motivation for Indonesian women to continue creating, remaining competitive, and contributing to the nation.
The event was opened with remarks from the DWP Advisor of the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, Ayu Heni Rosan. In her speech, she emphasised that women play a strategic role in national development, both in family environments, the workforce, and the business sector.
“Indonesian women have great potential to become drivers of change. Through events like this, we aim to encourage the emergence of resilient, creative women who can deliver positive impacts on their surroundings,” she stated.
The event then proceeded to a talk show session featuring two inspirational speakers: Raisha Syarfuan, President Director of PT Sarinah, and Kerri Na Basaria Panjaitan, CEO and Founder of Tobatenun. In the discussion, both shared experiences on women’s leadership, business innovation, and the importance of preserving cultural identity amid evolving times.
Raisha Syarfuan conveyed that women possess great strength to lead and create change if given equal space and opportunities.
“Women are not only capable of becoming leaders but also of bringing innovation and added value to society. The most important thing is the courage to step forward and continue learning,” said Raisha.
Meanwhile, Kerri Na Basaria Panjaitan stressed the importance of promoting local cultural products to compete in broader markets.
“Indonesia’s cultural heritage is an extraordinary wealth. Our task is to nurture it while developing it into economically valuable works that we can be proud of,” stated Kerri.
Also present at the event was the Chair of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan of the Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correctional Services (Kemenko Kumham Imipas), Nova R. Andika Dwi Prasetya, accompanied by the Secretary of DWP Kemenko Kumham Imipas, Nur Azizah.
After attending the series of events, Nova expressed her appreciation for the organisation, which she deemed capable of inspiring women to continue developing.
“Events like this are very positive because they bring inspirational female figures who can motivate many parties. The spirit of Kartini must continue to be alive through works, collaboration, and women’s courage in taking roles,” said Nova.
The series of events became even more lively with a Kartini monologue performance by Heppy Salma, delivering messages of struggle, courage, and the emancipation of Indonesian women. The atmosphere was then closed with a fashion show of modern traditional attire from Sarinah, showcasing a blend of traditional beauty and contemporary style.
Through this event, the spirit of Kartini is hoped to continue living within Indonesian women to create, lead, and preserve the nation’s culture amid the developments of the times.
