Mobix Labs Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Vision Aerial, Accelerating Global Drone Platform for National Security and Airborne Intelligence
Irvine, Calif.–(ANTARA/Business Wire)– Mobix Labs, Inc. (Nasdaq: MOBX) today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Vision Aerial, Inc., a US-based company that designs and manufactures American-made unmanned aircraft systems compliant with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The definitive agreement follows a previously announced Letter of Intent (LOI) and represents a significant step towards closing the acquisition, which will expand Mobix Labs’ presence in one of the world’s most important technology growth markets: high-security drones, autonomous aerial systems, and airborne intelligence for national security, critical infrastructure, energy, public safety, industrial inspection, and government operations. Vision Aerial’s customers and end users include the US Air Force, US Navy, various government agencies, energy and utility operators, research institutions, and other organisations requiring high performance, reliability, and trusted supply chains. Vision Aerial’s American-made drones support a range of national security and public safety operations, search and rescue, wildfire response, energy and infrastructure inspection, environmental monitoring, agriculture, industrial mapping, and advanced airborne sensors. The definitive agreement advances Mobix Labs’ National Security Matters Initiative by accelerating the company’s efforts to create a broader drone and airborne intelligence platform, combining Vision Aerial’s US-made drone systems with Mobix Labs’ radio frequency, sensor, communications, and national security technologies. Key strategic drivers include adding US-made drone platforms to Mobix Labs’ mission-critical technology portfolio, expanding the business into trusted unmanned aerial systems, positioning the company for global growth themes such as drones, airborne intelligence, advanced sensor technology, critical infrastructure protection, and national security, and merging Vision Aerial’s rugged drone systems with Mobix Labs’ capabilities in RF, sensors, connectivity, aerospace, and defence electronics. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Montana, Vision Aerial designs and manufactures rugged drone systems for challenging field conditions. Its unmanned aircraft are equipped with interchangeable cameras and sensors, including high-resolution cameras, thermal imaging, LiDAR, optical gas imaging, multispectral sensors, and precision mapping technology, enabling a single platform to support multiple mission profiles. The acquisition brings a US-made aerial platform to Mobix Labs at a time when government, defence, utility, energy, public safety, and industrial organisations are increasingly deploying drones to inspect critical assets, protect infrastructure, collect mission-critical data, and access hazardous or remote locations. According to Grand View Research, the US drone market was valued at $29.3 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $58.5 billion by 2033. Mobix Labs believes the opportunity extends beyond the US market, as customers worldwide increasingly prioritise security, reliability, supply chain integrity, and field performance when selecting aerial systems. Phil Sansone, CEO of Mobix Labs, said the definitive agreement represents a significant milestone for the company and its National Security Matters Initiative, adding that Vision Aerial brings a US-made drone platform, customer credibility in national security and critical infrastructure sectors, and real-world use cases that align strongly with Mobix Labs’ strategy. He noted that drones have become mission-critical systems for protecting infrastructure, improving safety, monitoring assets, and supporting national security priorities.
