Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of Metro Jaya Police has reopened mobile Driving Licence (SIM) services in the Jakarta area to assist residents in renewing the validity of this legal driving requirement on Friday. The service was temporarily closed on Thursday (14/5) to commemorate Ascension Day of Jesus Christ. Metro Jaya Police, through its X account @tmcpoldametro, announced that these SIM kiosks will operate from 08:00 to 14:00 WIB. The locations are as follows: East Jakarta: Lobby in front of Grand Cakung Mall; North Jakarta: Main lobby of LTC Glodok; South Jakarta: Parking area beside Trilogi University; West Jakarta: South lobby of Ciputra Mall; Central Jakarta: Parking area of the Lapangan Banteng Post Office. Prospective applicants must prepare and complete the required requirements and administrative fees before visiting the renewal locations. The required documents include a photocopy of a valid KTP, the original old SIM that is still valid, proof of health examination, and proof of psychology test through the Simpel Pol application. This mobile SIM service can only renew SIMs that are still valid for certain categories, namely SIM A and SIM C. For SIMs that have expired even by one day, the owners must apply for a new SIM at the locations designated by the police. For renewal fees, in accordance with Government Regulation Number 76 of 2020 on Types and Tariffs for Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) applicable to the National Police, it is Rp80,000 for SIM A renewal and Rp75,000 for SIM C renewal. In addition to these fees, applicants also need to pay additional costs such as psychology tests and health tests through the Simpel Pol application.
