Mobile SIM Services in Jakarta on Sunday Available at These Two Locations
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate is opening mobile driver’s licence (SIM) services on Sunday at two locations in Jakarta. This service is only for renewing SIMs that are still valid.
Information gathered from the official X account @TmcPoldaMetro states that the service will be open from 07:00 to 12:00 WIB.
Here are the two locations for the mobile SIM services in DKI Jakarta:
East Jakarta, the mobile SIM service is located on Jalan Raden Intan Kalimalang, next to McD Duren Sawit;
West Jakarta, the mobile SIM service is located on Jalan Panjang, next to Indomaret Kebon Jeruk, and in the Car-Free Day (HBKB) area of Puri Kembangan.
Meanwhile, there are no mobile SIM services in South, North, and Central Jakarta.
To access the service, applicants are required to bring the SIM to be renewed and their ID card (KTP), each accompanied by a photocopy.
At the service booth, applicants will be asked to fill out a form and undergo health and psychology tests.
It is reiterated that this service only handles renewals for SIM A and SIM C that are still valid. Meanwhile, holders of SIMs whose validity has expired must apply for a new SIM at the SIM offices in their respective areas.
For renewal fees, in accordance with Government Regulation Number 76 of 2020 on Types and Rates of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) applicable to the Police, it is Rp80,000 for SIM A renewal and Rp75,000 for SIM C renewal.
In addition to these fees, applicants also need to pay additional costs for psychology testing at Rp37,500 and insurance at Rp50,000.
For information, drivers who cannot show a valid SIM will be subject to sanctions in accordance with Article 288 paragraph 2 of Law Number 22 of 2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation. The maximum sanction that can be imposed is imprisonment for up to one month or a fine of up to Rp250,000.
