Mobile SIM Services Available in Five Jakarta Areas on Thursday

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Directorate of Traffic of the Metro Jaya Police is providing mobile driving licence (SIM) services in five locations in Jakarta on Thursday, from 08:00 to 14:00 WIB. The service aims to make it easier for residents to extend the validity period of this legal driving requirement. According to the official X (formerly Twitter) account of TMC Polda Metro Jaya, the services are located at: East Jakarta: Lobby in front of Mall Grand Cakung; South Jakarta: Parking area next to Universitas Trilogi Kalibata; North Jakarta: Main lobby of LTC Glodok; Central Jakarta: Parking area of Kantor Pos Lapangan Banteng; West Jakarta: South lobby of Mall Ciputra. The mobile SIM kiosks only serve extensions for SIMs that are still valid and for specific categories, namely SIM A and SIM C. If the SIM’s validity has expired, the owner must apply for a new SIM at the locations designated by the police. Regarding the extension fees, in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) No. 60 of 2016 on Non-Tax State Revenue, it is Rp80,000 for SIM A and Rp75,000 for SIM C. For extending the validity of SIM B, it can only be done at the offices of the Driving Licence Administration Unit (Satpas) due to differences in documents, as this SIM is designated for vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes.
