Mobile SIM services available at five Jakarta locations on Thursday

The Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate is providing mobile driving licence (SIM Keliling) services at five locations in Jakarta on Thursday to assist residents in renewing the validity period of the legal driving requirement.

According to the official X (Twitter) account of TMC Polda Metro Jaya, the services are located at:

• East Jakarta: Front lobby of Mal Grand Cakung

• North Jakarta: Main lobby of LTC Glodok

• South Jakarta: Parking area beside Trilogi University Kalibata

• West Jakarta: South lobby of Mall Ciputra

• Central Jakarta: Parking area of the Lapangan Banteng Post Office

The SIM outlets are open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Western Indonesia Time.

To access and be served at this mobile SIM facility, the public must prepare and complete the required documents and administrative fees before visiting the licence renewal location. The requirements include a photocopy of a valid ID card, a photocopy of the old SIM and the original SIM, proof of a health check, and proof of a psychological test.

This mobile SIM car service can only renew SIMs that are still valid for certain categories, namely SIM A and SIM C. For SIMs that have expired, the holder must apply for a new SIM at a location designated by the police.

The renewal fee, in accordance with Government Regulation Number 60 of 2016 on Non-Tax State Revenue, is Rp80,000 for a SIM A renewal and Rp75,000 for a SIM C renewal.

For SIM B licences, renewal cannot be done through the mobile SIM service; they must be renewed at a SIM Administration Unit (Satpas) office due to differences in the document’s designation. The SIM B document is intended for vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes.
