Mobile SIM Services Available at Five Jakarta Locations on Saturday

The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya is providing mobile driving licence (SIM) renewal services at five locations in Jakarta on Saturday for members of the public wishing to extend the validity period of their legal driving documents. Based on the @tmcpoldametro X account, the service is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. WIB at the following locations: East Jakarta: Front lobby of Grand Cakung Mall; North Jakarta: Main lobby of LTC Glodok Mall; South Jakarta: Istora Senayan, Jalan Pintu Satu Senayan (8 a.m. to 6 p.m. WIB); West Jakarta: South lobby of Ciputra Mall; Central Jakarta: Parking area of the Lapangan Banteng Post Office. The mobile SIM outlets only serve renewals for SIMs that are still valid for certain categories, namely SIM A and SIM C. If the SIM’s validity period has expired, the holder must apply for a new SIM at the Satpas SIM Daan Mogot in West Jakarta. The validity period of a SIM is now calculated as five years from the date of issuance and no longer adjusted to the holder’s date of birth. Regarding renewal fees, according to Government Regulation Number 76 of 2020 on Types and Tariffs of Non-Tax State Revenue applicable to the National Police, the cost is Rp80,000 for a SIM A and Rp75,000 for a SIM C. In addition to these fees, applicants must also pay additional costs, namely a psychological test fee of Rp100,000 and a medical test fee of Rp50,000. For information, drivers who cannot present a valid SIM are subject to sanctions under Article 288 paragraph 2 of Law Number 22 of 2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation, with a maximum penalty of one month imprisonment or a maximum fine of Rp250,000.
