Mobile SIM Services Available at Five Jakarta Locations on Saturday

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya) is opening mobile driver’s licence (SIM) services at five locations across Jakarta this Saturday for citizens wishing to extend the validity of their driving permits.

According to the @tmcpoldametro X account, the service will be available from 0ms 08:00 to 12:00 WIB at the following locations:

East Jakarta: Front lobby of Mall Grand Cakung

North Jakarta: Main lobby of LTC Glodok Mall

South Jakarta: Istora Senayan, Jalan Pintu Satu Senayan (08:00–18:00 WIB)

West Jakarta: South lobby of Mall Ciputra

Central Jakarta: Parking area of the Lapangan Banteng Post Office

The mobile SIM service only handles renewals for currently valid licences of specific categories, namely Class A and Class C. If the validity period of a licence has already expired, owners must apply for a new licence at the Satpas SIM Daan Mogot in West Jakarta.

Licence validity is now calculated for five years from the date of issuance and no longer aligns with the owner’s date of birth.

Regarding renewal costs, in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 76 of 2020 concerning the Types and Tariffs of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) applicable to the National Police, the fee is Rp80,000 for Class A and Rp75,000 for Class C. In addition to these fees, applicants must also pay for a psychological test of Rp100,000 and a health test of Rp50,000.

As a reminder, drivers who are unable to produce a valid driver’s licence will face sanctions under Article 288, paragraph 2 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transport, with a maximum penalty of up to one month of imprisonment or a fine of no more than Rp250,000.
