Mobile SIM service available at two Jakarta locations on Sunday

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police traffic directorate is providing a mobile driving licence (SIM Keliling) service at two locations in Jakarta to help residents renew the validity period of their legal driving documents on Sunday.

According to the official Instagram account of TMC Polda Metro Jaya, the services are located at:

East Jakarta: Jalan Raden Mas Intan, next to McDonald’s, Duren Sawit.

West Jakarta: Jalan Panjang, next to Indomaret, Kebon Jeruk.

The SIM outlets are open from 7am to 12pm Western Indonesia Time.

To access and be served at this mobile SIM facility, the public must prepare and complete the required documents and administrative fees before visiting the licence renewal location.

The requirements include a photocopy of a valid ID card (KTP), a photocopy of the old SIM and the original SIM, proof of a health check, and proof of a psychological test.

This mobile SIM service can only renew SIMs that are still valid for certain categories, namely SIM A and SIM C.

For SIMs whose validity period has expired, the holder must apply for a new SIM at a location designated by the police.

For renewal fees, in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 60 of 2016 on Non-Tax State Revenue, the cost is Rp80,000 for SIM A renewal and Rp75,000 for SIM C renewal.

As for SIM B, renewal cannot be carried out through the mobile SIM service, but must be renewed at the SIM Administration Unit (Satpas) office due to differences in the document’s designation.

The SIM B document itself is intended for vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes.
