Mobile SIM Renewal Service Available at Five Jakarta Locations on Friday

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Directorate is providing a mobile driving licence (SIM) service at five locations across Jakarta on Friday to make it easier for residents to renew the validity of the licence required for legal driving.

According to a post on the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Management Centre (TMC), the service is available at:

East Jakarta: Grand Cakung Mall

North Jakarta: LTC Glodok

South Jakarta: Trilogi University campus, Kalibata

South Jakarta: SMP Labschool Kebayoran

West Jakarta: Ciputra Mall’s south lobby

Applicants need to bring several documents, including a photocopy of a valid identity card (KTP), their physical old SIM and a photocopy, proof of a health check and proof of a psychological test.

The mobile SIM outlets only process renewals of licences that are still valid, and only for certain categories: SIM A and SIM C. If a licence has expired, its holder must apply for a new one at a location designated by the police.

Under Government Regulation No. 76 of 2020 on the types and tariffs of non-tax state revenue (PNBP) applicable to the National Police, renewal costs Rp80,000 for SIM A and Rp75,000 for SIM C.

SIM B licences can only be renewed at a Driving Licence Administration Unit (Satpas) office because of the different documentation required; this licence is intended for vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes.
