Mobile Phone Users Beware! 15 Million Attacks on Indonesian Websites

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Indonesia experienced 14,909,665 web-based attacks last year. This was revealed in a Kaspersky report presented by Defri Nofitra, Country Manager of Kaspersky Indonesia.

“So last year, in 2025, there were nearly 15 million web-based attacks in Indonesia. This is extraordinarily high. If divided by 12 months, that’s over a million, right? Web-based attacks are no joke,” said Defri in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

He also explained that 39.7 million on-device threats were detected last year. Unfortunately, not many people use antivirus for their phones.

However, phones are important devices used in daily life. Generally, he said that protection is only used for laptops.

“We can’t possibly open emails on a laptop every time. The simplest way is through a mobile phone,” he stated.

Defri also explained that 20% of companies experienced supply chain attacks throughout last year. One of the most common attacks was trusted relationship attacks at 22%.

He also said that attacks have become far more sophisticated. Given that attacks now use AI and bot technology.

Therefore, attacks can happen at any time. He reminded everyone to continuously prepare to face these cyber attacks.

“Like it or not, companies must prepare,” he explained.
