A mobile phone store in Ciracas, East Jakarta, distributed 1,000 food packages to thousands of ride-hailing drivers (ojol) in commemoration of Idul Adha 1447 Hijriyah (2026).

“The requirement is for East Jakarta residents. So in Ciracas and surrounding areas. Those with T-letter license plates will receive the packages,” said PT Lucky Fredy director in Ciracas, East Jakarta, on Thursday.

Thousands of ride-hailing drivers had gathered in front of the store since 7am, waiting to receive the packages containing rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, sugar, and tea. They also received envelopes with cash and boxed meals following a ceremony.

“Approximately 1,000 packages for ojol and the local community around the store,” Fredy said.

According to Fredy, this food package distribution is being held for the first time this year to emphasise the spirit of sharing during Idul Adha.

“Usually, we slaughter cows for Idul Adha, but this year we wanted to do something different. Typically, the meat comes from the RT/RW (neighbourhood units),” Fredy explained.

He noted that in previous years, only sacrificial meat was distributed to the community and ojol drivers.

“Every year we do the cow sacrifice, but this is the first time for food packages,” Fredy added.

Fredy hopes the initiative will continue annually to ensure families of ojol drivers and residents have their basic needs met.

“For the ojol drivers out there, we can help a little. May this bring blessings for everyone,” he said.

Ciracas Sub-district Head P. Ritonga praised the food package distribution for the community and ojol drivers in his area.

Ritonga expressed hope that such activities continue to ease the burden on drivers and meet household needs.

“May his business be blessed and bring goodness wherever he operates. On behalf of the government, thank you,” Ritonga said.

Ciracas Police Station Chief Kompol Rochmad S expressed satisfaction that ojol drivers under his jurisdiction received attention from the mobile phone store.

He noted that ojol drivers have been instrumental in maintaining security and order in the area.

“May this bring blessings and greatly assist the drivers. I also reminded the drivers to maintain order during the distribution process,” Rochmad said.
