Bogor Regency (ANTARA) - The Bogor Regency Government in West Java has launched a mobile library service to promote a reading culture among the public during the Tegar Beriman Car Free Day (CFD) in Cibinong on Sunday.

Secretary of the Bogor Regency Library and Archives Department, Nina Nurmasari, explained that the service aims to bring literacy access closer to the public in open spaces, while encouraging residents to use CFD not only for exercise but also for educational activities.

She stated that the mobile library is presented as support for the local government’s programme to increase public interest in reading.

“We are deploying the mobile library as an effort to contribute to the success of the Bogor Regent’s programme through CFD activities. In addition to the mobile library, we are also providing a comfortable reading area and various attractive prizes,” she said.

A variety of educational activities accompany the service, including storytelling, public speaking training, and interactive singing performances.

Nina hopes that through this event, the reading interest of Bogor Regency residents will continue to grow and become part of daily habits.

“It is hoped that through this activity, reading enthusiasm can be increased, ultimately driving improvements in literacy among Bogor Regency residents,” she said.

The event also involves various parties, such as Reading Ambassadors, Community Reading Gardens, storytelling communities, and writers’ communities, in building an inclusive literacy ecosystem.

Meanwhile, Indah, a resident of Bojonggede, views the presence of the mobile library at CFD as providing positive benefits for children.

“I am very pleased with the mobile library at this CFD. The children now have beneficial activities, not just playing but also reading books and participating in interesting activities like storytelling,” she said.
