Mobile JKN Simplifies Healthcare Facility Changes for Participants
The introduction of the Mobile JKN application represents a digital transformation by BPJS Kesehatan to enhance service accessibility for participants. Through this application, various administrative needs and healthcare services within the National Health Insurance (JKN) programme can be accessed easily, quickly, and equitably.
This convenience has been experienced firsthand by Dian Patriawan, a 69-year-old private pensioner from Banyuwangi Regency. He found the application particularly helpful for the process of changing his Primary Healthcare Facility (FKTP).
“I have recently moved my residence from Situbondo Regency to Banyuwangi Regency. Given my vulnerable health condition at my current age, I took the initiative to move my FKTP to the Banyuwangi area as a precautionary measure,” Dian stated on Friday, 24 April 2026.
Initially, Dian assumed that the process of changing healthcare facilities would be time-consuming and involve complicated administrative procedures, such as visiting an office and bringing various documents. However, he noted that he only needed to download the Mobile JKN application via the Play Store.
“Registering for the Mobile JKN application only requires using your NIK (National Identity Number). Next, I simply need to select the ‘Participant Data Change’ menu and proceed to the ‘Change FKTP’ option. The system then displays a list of FKTPs according to the region I have selected. From there, I can determine my preferred FKTP and save the changes immediately,” he explained.
Dian noted that the FKTP change he implemented will take effect on the 1st of the following month. During the interim period, he can still access services at his previous facility.
The JKN programme operates on the principle of portability, allowing participants to access healthcare services outside their registered area. According to Dian, this is extremely helpful, especially when travelling.
“When I am out of town, I can still receive medical treatment without having to change my facility, subject to applicable regulations. This is very convenient, especially since I still occasionally travel to Situbondo Regency,” he added.
In addition to the FKTP transfer feature, Dian also utilises other features within Mobile JKN, such as online queue registration. He explained that this feature allows him to select a date and follow a doctor’s schedule without having to arrive early in the morning to take a queue number. “It is much easier now; there is no need to queue for a long time or arrive early to collect a number. I can register from home, choosing the day, clinic, and preferred doctor,” he added.
On the other hand, Dian also reminded the public to remain vigilant against various fraudulent modes impersonating BPJS Kesehatan. He admitted to receiving suspicious calls from unknown numbers.
“If anyone asks for data or money claiming to represent BPJS Kesehatan, please be careful. All administrative services at BPJS Kesehatan are free, whether through face-to-face or non-face-to-face services,” he emphasised.
As a participant, Dian feels that the JKN programme is highly beneficial, particularly in reducing the significant burden of healthcare costs. He hopes that the public will utilise the available services optimally, including through the Mobile JKN application.
