Mobile Driving Licence Service Opens at 5 Jakarta Locations This Saturday, Check Requirements and Fees

The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police has deployed mobile driving licence (SIM) renewal services at five strategic locations across DKI Jakarta on Saturday (29/8/2026). The service is intended to make it easier for members of the public who wish to renew the validity period of their legal driving documents at the weekend.

According to information from the official X (Twitter) account of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate (@tmcpoldametro), all mobile SIM outlets begin operating from 08.00 to 12.00 WIB.

Members of the public who wish to use this service are required to bring a number of supporting documents.

The mobile SIM service specifically processes the renewal of SIM licences that are still valid for SIM A (four-wheeled vehicles) and SIM C (two-wheeled vehicles).

If the validity period of a SIM A or SIM C has expired or passed its expiry date, the applicant cannot renew it at a mobile outlet. The holder must apply for a new SIM at the designated SIM Administration Unit (Satpas) determined by the police.

Meanwhile, for renewal of a SIM B (heavy vehicles with a load above 3.5 tonnes), applicants must process it directly at the main Satpas office. This is due to differences in the document’s purpose and more specific technical testing.

In accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 60 of 2016 concerning Types and Tariffs of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) applicable to the Indonesian National Police, the basic fee for SIM renewal is adjusted according to its class.

Members of the public are advised to arrive early and ensure the completeness of physical documents before heading to the location to avoid long queues. (Ant/P-4)
