Mobile Driving Licence Service Available at Two Jakarta Locations on Sunday

The Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police is providing a mobile driving licence (SIM Keliling) service at two locations in Jakarta to help residents extend the validity of their legal driving permits on Sunday.

According to the official X (Twitter) account of TMC Polda Metro Jaya, the services are located at:

• East Jakarta: Jalan Raden Mas Intan, next to McDonalds Duren Sawit

• West Jakarta: Jalan Panjang, next to Indomaret, Kebon Jeruk

The SIM outlets are open from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Western Indonesia Time.

To access and be served by this mobile SIM facility, the public must prepare and complete the required documents and administrative fees before visiting the licence extension location. The requirements include a photocopy of a valid ID card (KTP), a photocopy of the old SIM and the original SIM, proof of a health check, and proof of a psychological test.

The mobile SIM car service can only extend SIMs that are still valid for specific categories, namely SIM A and SIM C. For SIMs that have expired, the holder must apply for a new SIM at a location designated by the police.

The extension fee, in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 60 of 2016 on Non-Tax State Revenue, is Rp80,000 for a SIM A extension and Rp75,000 for a SIM C extension.

For SIM B types, the validity period cannot be extended through the mobile SIM service; it must be renewed at the SIM Administration Unit (Satpas) office due to differences in the document’s designation. The SIM B document itself is intended for vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes.
