Mobile Driving Licence Service Available at Five Jakarta Locations on Saturday

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Directorate is providing a mobile driving licence (SIM Keliling) service at five locations across Jakarta on Saturday to help residents renew the validity of their driving licences.

According to the official Instagram account of the Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Management Centre (TMC), the service will be available at:

East Jakarta: the lobby in front of Grand Cakung Mall

North Jakarta: the main lobby of LTC Glodok

South Jakarta: the car park beside Trilogi University in Kalibata

West Jakarta: the south lobby of Ciputra Mall

Central Jakarta: the car park at the Lapangan Banteng Post Office

The service booths will be open from 8 am to noon Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

To use the mobile service, residents must prepare the required documents and pay the administrative fee before going to a renewal location. Requirements include a photocopy of a valid identity card (KTP), a photocopy of the old driving licence and the original licence, and proof of a health check and psychological test.

The mobile service can renew only valid SIM A and SIM C licences. Holders of licences that have expired must apply for a new licence at a location designated by the police.

Under Government Regulation No. 60 of 2016 on Non-Tax State Revenue, renewal fees are Rp80,000 for SIM A and Rp75,000 for SIM C.

SIM B licences cannot be renewed through the mobile service. They must be renewed at a Driving Licence Administration Unit (Satpas), because they are issued for a different vehicle category.

SIM B licences are for vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes.
