Mobile Driver's Licence Services Available at Two Locations this Sunday

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate is providing mobile driver’s licence (SIM Keliling) services at two locations in Jakarta this Sunday to assist citizens in extending the validity of their legal driving documents. The SIM booths will be open from 07:00 to 12:00 WIB.

Information from the official TMC Polda Metro Jaya Instagram account states that the service is available at two locations:

East Jakarta: Jalan Raden Mas Intan, next to McDonald’s, Duren Sawit.

West Jakarta: Jalan Panjang, next to Indomaret, Kebon Jeruk.

To access these mobile SIM services, the public must prepare and complete the necessary requirements and administrative fees before visiting the renewal locations.

The requirements include a photocopy of a valid ID card (KTP), a photocopy of the old driving licence and the original licence, proof of a health check, and proof of a psychological test. This mobile service can only extend licences that are still valid for specific categories, namely SIM A and SIM C.

For licences that have already expired, owners must apply for a new licence at locations designated by the police. According to Government Regulation (PP) Number 60 of 2016 regarding Non-Tax State Revenue, the renewal fee is Rp80,000 for SIM A and Rp75,000 for SIM C.

As for SIM B, renewals cannot be processed through the mobile service and must be handled at the SIM Administration Unit (Satpas) offices due to different document purposes. SIM B licences are intended for vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes.
