Jakarta (ANTARA) - MMS Group Indonesia (MMSGI), in collaboration with several partners, has provided facilities for MSME entrepreneurs and organised waste management education in the Legian area, Bali.

MMSGI CEO Sendy Greti stated that the activities—which involve the Life After Mine (LINE) Foundation, MMS Land through Pullman Bali Legian Beach, schools, and local communities—are aimed at providing benefits to both society and the environment.

“Through support for MSME entrepreneurs, education for children, and collaboration with schools and communities, we want to deliver benefits that can continue to grow for both the community and the environment,” Sendle said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Monday.

To support the activities of MSME entrepreneurs in the Legian Beach area, MMSGI, alongside the LINE Foundation and MMS Land via Pullman Bali Legian Beach, handed over 20 parasols and nine segregated waste bins through PUBDA Legian.

These facilities are intended to support the daily operations of businesses in the beach area while simultaneously supporting waste management in the surrounding environment.

Regarding environmental aspects, the ‘Bigger Dream 2026’ initiative through MMSGI Eco Warriors involved 150 students and 25 teachers from SD Negeri 1 Legian, 30 MMSGI employees, and the Malu Dong Bali community.

The series of activities began with a Legian Beach clean-up action on Sunday (27/9), involving students in efforts to maintain the cleanliness of the coastal environment.

The programme continued at SD Negeri 1 Legian with waste management education using the “See, Pick Up, Sort, Dispose” method.

Through this activity, students were introduced to identifying types of waste, sorting them by category, and understanding that certain materials can be reused if managed correctly.

The programme also provided waste management facilities to SD Negeri 1 Legian, including segregated bins, a bottle press, tumblers, and cleaning equipment.

Meanwhile, the Malu Dong Bali community received environmental activity vests (eco vests) and waste collection boxes (drop boxes) to support waste collection activities in the Legian Beach area.

The Head of SD Negeri 1 Legian, Noor Octa Fiyanti, stated that the activity provided students with direct experience in understanding waste management and the importance of environmental preservation.

“By learning to manage waste circularly today, these children are protecting their own future,” she said.

This economic and environmental empowerment initiative is part of MMSGI Connect 2026, which combines support for local businesses with waste management education for students and the general public.
