MKMK Rejects Report Alleging Ethics Violations by Adies Kadir
The Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) has decided not to accept the report alleging breaches of the ethics code by Constitutional Court Judge Adies Kadir, deeming the report outside MKMK’s remit.
“The Honourary Council is not authorised to examine, try, or decide the report as filed,” MKMK Chair I Dewa Gede Palguna said when reading the verdict at the MK building, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 5 March 2026.
The MKMK said the report submitted could not be measured against Adies Kadir’s capacity as a prospective Constitutional Court judge. The report outlines actions taken by Respondent 2 Judge Adies Kadir before taking office as a constitutional judge, primarily in his capacity as a member of the House of Representatives (DPR). “The report submitted by the complainant describes actions carried out by Judge Respondent 2 (Adies Kadir) before he became a constitutional judge, actions that cannot and should not be measured by Sapta Karsa Hutama, but rather by the ethics code binding him in accordance with his office,” said MKMK member Ridwan Mansyur.
Another MKMK member, Yuliandri, emphasised that the alleged violations reported are not within MKMK’s remit. This, he said, is set out in the Constitutional Court Law and PMK 11/2024.
“Thus, the alleged violations as described by the Reporter clearly do not fall within the scope of the authority given to the Honorary Council, as defined in the Constitutional Court Law and PMK 11/2024,” he said.
For the record, there are three reports lodged with MKMK alleging ethics violations by Adies Kadir. The reports are registered as follows: 01/MKMK/L/ARLTP/02/2026, 02/MKMK/L/ARLTP/02/2026, and 03/MKMK/L/ARLTP/02/2026.
