Constitutional Court (MK) Justice Liliek Prisbawono Adi has officially taken the oath of office in the presence of President Prabowo Subianto. Liliek expressed her thanks for being entrusted with the role of constitutional justice. “I have been inaugurated as a constitutional justice to replace His Honour Prof Dr Anwar Usman, which is a source of pride and joy, and of course, thanks to my institution,” Liliek said at the State Palace on Friday (10/4/2026). To Supreme Court Chief Justice Sunarto, Liliek expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her to hold this position. “I ask for your prayers, of course this is a struggle for me to always improve my integrity and capacity as a constitutional justice. Once again, I express my thanks. I ask for your prayers to carry out my duties and responsibilities in safeguarding the constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,” she stated. Liliek said there are no specific tasks entrusted to her moving forward. Liliek stated that she is merely replacing Anwar Usman’s position as an MK justice. “Specifically, there are no particular tasks conveyed to me. So I am in the position of replacing Mr Anwar Usman, Prof Anwar Usman, who has served as a constitutional justice for 15 years,” she mentioned. The homework to be done in the future, said Liliek, is to safeguard the constitution. Liliek said she will prioritise statesmanship. “Of course, safeguarding the constitution of the Republic of Indonesia is the first priority, and the nature of statesmanship will be our guide as constitutional justices,” she added.
