Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is urging the public to buy subsidised 3-kilogram LPG from official depots or agents marked with green signs. “We urge the public to buy 3-kilogram LPG only from official depots or agents with green signs, so anything outside of that is illegal,” said Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga’s West Java Region, Freddy Anwar, during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday. He asked the public to ensure that the LPG is properly sealed in accordance with regulations. If the LPG lacks a seal, Freddy assured that the product is illegal and not from Pertamina. Freddy also encouraged the public to actively report indications of subsidised LPG misuse to law enforcement or through Pertamina’s official channels. The public can use Pertamina’s contact centre at 134 to report suspected fraud or other LPG misuse, which will be followed up jointly with the police. Freddy urged the public to use LPG wisely and purchase according to their needs. He appreciated the quick and firm action from the National Police, particularly the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, which swiftly uncovered alleged criminal acts of subsidised LPG misuse at six locations. “Pertamina Patra Niaga fully supports law enforcement efforts against parties suspected of involvement in these illegal practices,” he said. Freddy assessed that the mixing of LPG harms the state, disrupts the distribution of subsidised LPG, and directly impacts entitled recipients. “In any case, President Prabowo in his vision has stated that we can all ensure energy is available to the public and, of course, subsidies go to their intended purposes,” said Freddy.
