Mixed doubles won by Indonesia
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's mixed doubles of Hendry Kurniawan Saputra and Eny Erlangga became the sole winners of the Asian Juniors Badminton Championships in Yangon after defeating Zheng Bo and Wei Yili of China 15-12, 17-16 on Saturday.
National boys' doubles of Hendry and Wandry Kurniawan Saputra failed to maintain Indonesia's supremacy in the boys' doubles as they lost to Sang Yang and Chen Yu of China 6-15, 2-15.
Xinhua news agency reported that in the boys' singles final Chinese Xiao Li beat compatriot Zhang Yang 9-15, 15-13, 15-6 while in the all-Chinese girls' singles final, Hu Ting defeated Wei Yan 2-11, 13-11, 11-7.
China also took another title in the girls' doubles after Xie Xingfang and Zhang Jiewen overcame teammates Wei Yili and Li Yujia 15-9, 15-6.
China won the girls' team title on Tuesday after it routed Indonesia's team 5-0. But Indonesia managed to take revenge with the boys' team after beating the Chinese 3-2.(yan)
