Mitsui gets loan to buy plants

TOKYO: International Power Plc, a power producer on four
continents, and Mitsui & Co. Ltd., got a $800 million loan to
acquire Edison International's power plants in Europe, Australia
and Indonesia.

With the payment, International Power and Mitsui completed a
$2 billion acquisition to buy stakes in 10 power plants, Mitsui
said in a statement on Friday.

The plants in six countries that include Puerto Rico have a
total capacity of 4,666 megawatts. -- Bloomberg
